Palworld Missions: Where to Start and Find Your Next Quest

Palworld 1.0.4Published 7 min readPalworldmissionsquests

For the main story, start at Hill of Beginnings, follow the survival tasks, then speak to the Chief at Small Settlement. For the two new 1.0.4 side missions, visit the Pal Tamer at Fisherman's Point. If you already have a quest, select it in your mission log and read the current objective before travelling: the next stop may be a client, a clue or a return visit.

Use the mission finder to search by quest name, settlement, NPC or requested item. It covers selected story stops through Sunreach, side quests and changing requests. This guide explains how to use those locations and choose a useful next trip; it does not cover the entire World Tree story or every side quest.

Choose the right kind of mission

The finder separates tutorial missions and variable requests to make browsing easier. In the game, the opening tutorial belongs to Main Missions and the request entries belong to Sub Missions. Base upgrade tasks happen at the base you built.

A practical route from the beach to the first tower

At Hill of Beginnings, activate the Great Eagle Statue around X 240, Y -512, then find the nearby person at X 241, Y -509 for The First Islander. Unlocking that travel stop gives you a convenient place to return while you set up.

Work through the survival objectives where you decide to build. A workbench task does not send you to someone else's settlement. Keep checking the individual action the log requests: placing the facility, crafting an item, equipping it or assigning a Pal may be separate steps. For Catching a Pal, gather Paldium near water, craft spheres at your workbench, then weaken a small wild Pal before trying the capture.

Once the story sends you to Small Settlement, go northwest from the starting area and speak to the Chief around X 76, Y -476. The following Crafting Pal Gear request asks for Foxparks and its harness. Prepare those at your base, then report back. Do that return conversation before setting off for the tower.

The Rayne Syndicate sends you to the tower entrance at X 111, Y -430. Repair, restock ammunition and food, and check your party before entering. After the victory, The Key Sphere sends you back to the Chief. Zoe Rayne then takes you to another conversation by the tower, around X 112, Y -428. That back-and-forth is part of the quest: a tower victory is not always the final step.

Where the next tower investigations begin

These are the first objective stops for the named investigations. They are not all tower entrances, and they are useful only once your story has reached the corresponding mission.

MissionFirst stopWhat to watch for
Thou Shalt Not Harm PalsSealed Realm of the Myriad Flames, -223, -138Several clues and return visits lead toward the Free Pal Alliance Tower.
Flawless Victory FixationFisherman's Point, -484, -750Start with the village investigation before climbing toward the Eternal Pyre Tower.
Ruler of the SandsDuneshelter, 350, 350The settlement is a repeated stop during the PIDF investigation.
Interspecies ExperimentsUnthawable Lake, -100, 303Keep this return point in mind while travelling through the mountains.
A Fine Night for a DrinkNear Moonflower Tower, -610, 233The first lead is northwest of the later tower fight entrance.
Bearer of All BurdensShield Dragon Tunnel, -1023, -930Follow the investigation before heading to Feybreak Tower.
Hope Springs EternalSunreach Watchtower, -284, -1467Check the active island objective as the route moves around Sunreach.

Treat the first stop as an orientation point. Once the objective changes, use the new marker; repeatedly revisiting an old coordinate will not tell you which conversation or item you missed.

Combine nearby side missions into one trip

Small Settlement is a useful first check. The Farmer for Pal's Blessing is around X 85, Y -485, with a request involving a Pal that can water. The Pal Ecological Researcher is nearby at X 77, Y -482. Check the request with each NPC before selecting a Pal or planning another capture run.

For a concrete supply run, Medical Bills asks for 5,000 Gold Coins at the Farmer near the Sealed Realm of the Frozen Wings, X 100, Y -364. Breeding Basics asks for 5 Cakes at the Breeder near the Sealed Realm of the Ardent, X -110, Y -473. These are different clients and different trips; read the mission name before spending or handing anything over.

At Fisherman's Point, the two delivery clients are close together: Stockpiling Sulfur uses X -479, Y -746, and Stockpiling Hardwood uses X -474, Y -749. Each asks for ten of its named resource. If both requests are available, carrying ten of each lets you handle both deliveries during the same village visit. These are client coordinates, so look elsewhere for the resource deposits.

The two new Fisherman's Point missions in 1.0.4

Beyond Dimensions begins with an NPC at Fisherman's Point in Mount Obsidian. From the Far Side of the Moon follows after you complete it. Both missions were added in 1.0.4.

Look for the Pal Tamer with an unusual companion in the village. The mission's return point is around X -475, Y -754; use it to orient yourself rather than treating it as a guarantee that the acceptance interaction stands on that exact spot. After accepting Beyond Dimensions, follow the investigation to the Sealed Realm of Terraria at X -420, Y -787. Its listed rewards include Terra Blade Schematic 2, a Little Kinship Peach, and 30,000 Gold Coins.

The follow-up involves a Celestial Sigil and Moon Lord, then a return to the Pal Tamer. Its listed rewards include Terraprisma Schematic 2, a Kinship Peach, and 100,000 Gold Coins.

Prepare for that second mission before using the summon item. A Celestial Sigil is offered at a Summoning Altar, which brings a powerful enemy to your base. Choose the base where you intend to fight, bring your combat Pals and supplies, and read the current summon prompt before confirming. A village conversation and a base raid need very different preparation.

When a mission will not progress

Work through these checks in order so you can separate a missed step from a possible bug:

  1. Select the exact mission again. Confirm whether you are following Main Missions or Sub Missions, then read the current objective rather than only the title.
  2. Check the action. Owning, crafting, equipping, delivering and reporting back are different instructions. For a Pal hand-in, inspect its species and any requested passive or work suitability.
  3. Compare the destination with your step. A quest can return to its client several times. An item marker or encounter coordinate does not identify the person who originally gave you the quest.
  4. Check your game and server version. Update both where applicable before repeating a long route.
  5. Reopen the conversation after the area is calm. Let the dialogue finish, then look for an updated objective. If it remains stuck, record the quest name, current step and what you already tried before reporting the problem.

The 1.0.4 notes specifically address the axe-and-pickaxe objective when the player already owned the tools, an absent World Tree Guardian after an early Panthalus defeat, dialogue problems, and mission-marker issues. They also change two Pal Critic requests: Dogen in Sakurajima and Faleris Aqua in Sunreach. Check the request in your current game before following an older shopping list. These fixes do not establish one universal workaround for every stalled quest.

If the mission asks for a Pal you cannot find, use the Pal location finder for the capture trip. For a forgotten client or story lead, return to the mission finder and search the quest name first.
